AEO for B2B: content that helps buyers decide

José Manuel Almanza MedranoBy José Manuel Almanza Medrano · Founder of MXIM

Answer engine optimization means making information understandable and useful to systems that answer questions. For B2B, the foundation is crawlable content with clear answers, identifiable authors and verifiable evidence. No tag guarantees an AI citation.

Answer a real question on each page

Use questions buyers actually ask: what a service includes, when it fits, what to prepare and how to assess alternatives. Give the direct answer first, then explain the criteria that change the decision.

A useful local page explains who you serve and how the service fits their needs, rather than repeating a city name.

Separate facts, examples and results

Name the author and distinguish firsthand material from external sources and illustrative examples. A number without a reliable method and permission is not adequate evidence.

Link inspectable work and explain your exact role. Client website figures do not automatically belong to the supplier.

Make answers readable without interaction

Important answers belong in text, not only inside images, animation or click-dependent views. Use descriptive headings and normal internal links.

Google says its established SEO practices apply to AI features; there are no special extra markup requirements.

Keep the local identity consistent

Use a consistent trading name, real location and service description across the site and external profiles. MXIM’s confirmed base is Chihuahua, Mexico; that does not justify inventing a public office address.

Follow each platform’s business-profile eligibility requirements. An online-only company should not imply a customer-facing office.

Use structured data accurately

Organization, person, service and article markup should match visible information. Do not add fictional ratings, prices or credentials.

Markup clarifies content but does not guarantee indexing, ranking or citation. Files intended for assistants are not a substitute for useful content and crawl access.

Monitor verifiable signals

After publication, inspect discovery and indexing in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Track queries, landing pages and qualified commercial enquiries.

Record AI citations where verifiable, without treating a single citation as proof of business growth. Update content when the offer or evidence changes.
